Description
Ogbono Soup, also known as Draw Soup, is a popular Nigerian dish famous for its thick, viscous, and slimy texture, which is created by grinding seeds from the African wild mango (ogbono). This unique texture makes it perfect for swallowing with solid staples like Fufu. The soup is packed with flavor from an assortment of meats and fish, typically including beef, stockfish, and dried shrimp.
It’s often cooked with leafy vegetables like ugwu (pumpkin leaves) or spinach. The nutty flavor of the ogbono seeds, combined with the robust stock and proteins, results in a deeply satisfying and comforting stew.
Ingredients: Ground ogbono seeds, beef, fish, Fufu Garri (tapioca/cassava), leafy vegetables, palm oil, spices.
