Description
Achu is a revered traditional dish from the Northwest region of Cameroon, often served during important cultural ceremonies. Its central component is Achu (yellow soup), a smooth, vibrant
yellow paste made from pounded cocoyam, palm oil, and a special limestone (bicarbonate) that gives it its unique color, flavor, and slippery texture.
The soup is typically accompanied by a variety of meats, cow skin, and a spicy Achu seasoning. Eating Achu is a communal and ceremonial experience, with the soft, sticky cocoyam paste being used to scoop up the rich, spicy soup and meats.
Ingredients: Fufu cocoyam, palm oil, bicarbonate (limestone), spices, assorted meats.
